In 1956 the Traditional Jazz were the youngsters favorite music. After the movie Rock around the Clock was shown in Bristol on Stroeget that year, the tender start of Rock'n'Rollbegan in Denmark.
In Thomas P. Hejles Youth Club a traditional jazzband played called Papa Ranthe's Jazzband.
When their drummer joined the army, I got the offer to play with them.
Places of performance: Youth Clubs, Schoolballs and different Jazz-Clubs.
The Band was established to the matter of a Christmas-recording for Smash Records and was renamed to Ranthe-Birch's Smash Band, we produced two singles at Metronome Studio on Oernevej, Copenhagen N
