In the beginning of 1957 a lot of Rock bands turned up in Denmark. It started on Vesterbro at Kisbye Dancing in Koedbyen, and it spread like circles in the water to the places of performance, mentioned in the bottom of this site. The teen-agers liked the bands and jitterbug became an incredible popular dance. I haven't reached 15 yet.

Some of the bands: Melvis Rockband - Crazy Rockboys - James and his Jamesmen - The Ready Rock Boys -
Little Freddie and his Rockboys - Ib 'Rock' Jensen
.

Little Freddie performed one night in July at Vesterbro Youth Club, the drummer broked the drumhead on his snaredrum. Freddie advertised for a snaredrum. I went home for mine in Viktoriagade, and got as a reward permission to play a couple of numbers together with them.
A couple of days later I got a call from Freddie, asking me if I would like to join the band, and I accepted at once.

That became the start of a long but nice Rock'n'Roll career.
We didn't have any personal manager, Freddie stood for all the booking.

The photo on the left above, camed from a weekly paper called Familie Jounalen, we were performing at Havemann's Magasin on Vesterbrogade for a fashion show. One of the models sang a number with us.

The photo below is from Kisbye in Koedbyen a Saturday night.
I apologize for the bad quality.
